Check out this lovely little interview with one of our contributors, Heather Louise Photography.
How did you get into photography?
I started taking self-portraits with my little compact camera and then got an SLR for my birthday. After being inspired by magazines like Vogue while studying fashion design at college, I quickly realised that fashion design wasn’t for me and I chose the photography route instead. I worked with my first model in July 2007 and haven’t looked back since.
Where do you find your inspiration?
I’m very inspired by other photographers like Lara Jade & Damon Baker. I also get inspiration from everyday life. I see life through a lens, I can be sat on the train and see a nice location for a shoot or be listening to a song and get an idea from a lyric etc.
What is the one piece of equipment you couldn’t live with out (excluding, camera, laptop)?
Imagination, inspiration, the sun, 50mm lens, photoshop. (That is more than one sorry!!)
How would you describe your style of photography?
Fashion photography with an edgy but dreamy feel to it.
How important is fashion in your photography?
I like to try and have a bit of fashion in all my photos. Fashion is a big part of my life so I like to incorporate that into my work.
